Alan Akerman Director

After over 40 years in Aluminium Fabrication, Alan has probably forgotten more about the stuff than most of us will ever know. So that’s why he’s our Technical Director – because there’s very little to do with aluminium construction and fabrication that he hasn’t actually been on the receiving end of. One of the original ‘gang of 3’ founders, and, after all this time, he still enjoys solving whatever challenge gets placed in front of him. Just don’t disturb him when he’s taking his afternoon nap…

John Ellis ACIOB Director

John is the eyes and ears of the business, pushing the business forward on all aspects of client facing contracts including Quality, Health and Safety, and Architectural liaison. Aluminium fabrication has been John’s world for almost 30 years, and there are very few in the Industry with his drive and experience.

Terry Mitchell ACIOB Director

As Terry’s career illustrates, his experience is all about the final mile – getting the installation from factory to site, and getting it in place, on-time, right first time. His experience has been crafted on the front line of some of the country’s largest Civil Engineering projects - where saying what you mean, and doing what you say are the only language anyone understands. Which makes him a bit predictable. But that’s what you want isn’t it?

Paul Clarke

Paul has been with DUAL almost since day 1 and was only the third member of our staff to join us. He is out "Top Gun" in our I.T. Department and has overseen the introduction of all our computerised equipment and in particular the setting up and running of the latest CNC machines. A special skill that has been self taught.

Pauls all round knowledge of our Industry is invaluable in helping us to continue to make the remarkable progress DUAL have made in a very short time and to continue to stay ahead of our rivals

Kate Astbury

Kate is one of the new faces of Dual, but she’s still been with us for around 2 years, and she still manages to keep us all in line (under her thumb, she thinks!). That takes up about 10% of her time – the rest she spends on keeping the company finances in good order and overseeing all aspects of Dual’s financial management, from monthly accounts and cash flow, through credit control and payroll. It’s a vital role, because, like all SME’s, cash is king and Kate is very good at getting it in and using it effectively. So if, as a client, you ever have the misfortune to get a call from Kate, don’t expect an easy ride. She understands how important cash is to a business, and she does everything in her power to make sure she can fulfil her responsibilities and commitments on both sides of the equation – for our clients and suppliers.
We think that this demonstrates a fairly even-handed approach to business.
It’s a shame that can’t be said for her opinions on football, rugby and ice hockey. Don’t even go there!
